I have a patch left on my plot of about 2m x 2m in which to grow a couple of courgette plants.

However the shed casts a shadow over the patch from earlyish afternoon. It is not totally dark just not overly sunny! Will courgettes do ok in partial shade?

well they do ok in my garden which is about the same, shade wise

I've picked a spot that has sun for the best part of the day but gets some shade too just like yours for the same reason. Hope you like courgettes because I do well with them.

Totally agree with the others I also grow mine in a spot where thet get full sun until mid afternoon and then are shaded by a fence for the rest of the day and they certainly don't seem to suffer for it so I would say that your chosen spot sounds ideal
