Hi guys

Does anyone know of any kind of feeder which can be put on a timer? I know this sounds odd but I leave for work at just gone 7am and am not home until my girls are in bed so I can't feed them their treats in the afternoon.

Is there some kind of feeder that I can set on a timer or maybe I could make something??

 tongue2

Thanks
Liz

I don't think your girls will suffer not having treats during the week Wink

Keep the treats limited to the weekend, and they will probably love you more lol

hi! thats an interesting idea - i think you can buy timed cat feeders from major pet shops - theyve got 2 bowls which i think open at different times according to when you set them -  would probably work for hens too!

We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

We have the same problem. We leave at 7.30 and dont come home till 5.40ish.
I have been scattering corn around in the morning with a bowl of layers pellets. But I watched them eat all the corn this morning.
Ideally they are supposed to have the corn in the afternoon, about an hour before they go to bed and a timer feeder would be just the job.

Thats what I've been doing Beano just leaving them in the morning and then they eat all the treats before their pellets! Naughty girls  Tongue

I've been looking on the internet and found loads of automatic pet feeders - meant to be for cats & dogs but will do the job. I never even knew such a thing existed! Going to order one then I can leave them some bits for the afternoons  laugh
